Most backyards end up as a collection of things bought at different times — a deck here, a store-bought pergola there, a barbecue pushed against a wall. The yards that actually get used are the ones planned as a single room, with shelter, cooking, seating and fire in a sensible relationship to each other and to the house.
We build heavy-timber pavilions with exposed rafters and king-post trusses, charcoal-stained pergolas, tongue-and-groove cedar ceilings, full outdoor kitchens in masonry and stone, linear fireplaces with timber mantels, multi-level decks with lit risers, and the privacy screens and cabinetry that tie it together.

The Process
Whether it is a single pavilion or a complete backyard, the work follows the same four steps from first site visit to final walkthrough.

Consultation
We begin on site, listening. How you want to live in the space, the way the light moves, the details worth getting right — this is where the project takes shape.

Design
We develop detailed drawings, material selections, and a clear quote, working alongside your architect, designer, and trades. Nothing moves forward until every detail is right.
03
Build
We build with precision and care, much of it cut and fitted by hand. A limited number of projects each year means Eric stays personally involved from footing to final finish.
04
Completion
We walk the finished space with you and clean the site as though we were never there — leaving only the work, and a project built to last.

The questions homeowners ask us most before starting an outdoor living project.
Do I need a permit for a pergola, pavilion or deck?
It depends on size, height and how close it sits to the property line, and it varies between Vaughan, King City and Toronto. Decks above a certain height and most roofed structures need a permit. We confirm what your lot requires and handle the drawings and application as part of the project.
What timber and decking do you use?
Western red cedar for cladding, ceilings and screens, structural timber for posts and trusses, and either premium composite or hardwood decking depending on how you want it to age. We will walk you through the trade-offs on maintenance, colour change and cost before anything is ordered.
Can you build over or around an existing pool and landscaping?
Yes. A lot of our work is added to established yards. We plan access and protection for existing pools, decking and planting before we start, and coordinate with your landscape contractor so the site is restored properly at the end.
When should the work happen?
Most outdoor builds run between spring and late fall, and the best projects are designed and permitted over the winter so construction starts as soon as the ground allows. If you want the yard finished for next summer, the conversation should happen this year.
What areas do you build in?
Vaughan, Kleinburg, King City, Woodbridge and Toronto primarily, and further into Ontario for the right project.
